When to Settle Up
Trip Tabulator keeps a running total of the expenses you enter, but it does not track payments made outside the app. For the clearest results, settle once you’re finished entering expenses. If your group settles balances during the trip and then continues spending, start a new trip for the next round of expenses.
About Saved Trips
Saved trips are private to this browser and device — nobody else can see them, and there’s no account or sign-in required.
The first time you save a trip, this browser is given a private, random identity stored in a secure cookie. Your trips are saved on the server against that identity only, so they survive app updates and can be reopened any time you come back.
Because that identity lives in this browser’s cookies, clearing your browser or site data will disconnect you from your saved trips. Saved trips also don’t automatically sync between different devices or browsers — each one has its own private identity.
